Temporary Traffic Island near SK Temple Road

A temporary traffic police island has been created using painted kerb stones and barricades at the ITPL Main Road and SK Temple Road junction. The traffic police provided mobile barricades and reflectors, and adopted the traffic island to be manned for a few days before moving into a more permanent intervention.

This junction was subject to regular violations made by motorists going the wrong way on a one-way road which lead to wrong side driving and illegal turns at high speed putting motorist safety at stake. The traffic island, accompanied by a “No Right Turn” sign will help regulate the movement of traffic and create a safer space for commuters in the neighbourhood.
